Well, ladies and gentlemen, in this occasion I would like to tell you about the importance of English for us.
Ladies and gentlemen,
English is an International language, so it’s very important for us to learn English. Some of us may be think that it’s not necessary to be able to master English because we live in Indonesia, we speak Indonesian language, and all our families are Indonesian
people. The others think that English is difficult lesson, so they are reluctant to learn
English. But from now, we have to change our mind. Why? Ladies and gentlemen,
All of us knew have known that English is an International language. There are so many advertisements in the newspapers look for people who has ability in English. It means that there are so many business companies want to look for the employees who have ability in English. We have graduated from the university. We have knowledge, but if we can’t compete with other people because we can’t speak and write English, it’ so poor for us. That’s one of the reasons why we have to learn English.
My friends,
Now we live in modern era, we have to compete with the people from other countries. We have to move on. It will happen if can communicate in English, right? There are so many information we can get from the internet. It’s very useful for us as students. By internet, we can find information about everything to support our school needs. It will be easier if we know English well.
Ladies and gentlemen,
The government has students exchange program. The program is held to exchange the
Indonesian students with other countries’ students. They will know the culture and many
things about Indonesia, and so do we. If we want to join in this program, of course we have to be able to communicate in English. Don’t we want to join it? I, myself, really want to join it if there is a chance. I’m sure that you want too.
Ladies and gentlemen,
We have known the importance of English. From now, don’t be lazy to learn English! By trying and trying, I’m sure we can make it. Let’s do it now! Let’s do our best!
